First trailer for Netflix thriller The Guilty

With Training Day's Antoine Fuqua behind the camera and a script from True Detective's Nic Pizzolatto, it's definitely one to watch out for.

Netflix has released the first trailer for its tense new crime-thriller The Guilty

The film serves as an English-language remake of the acclaimed 2018 Danish film Den Skyldige which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at that year’s Academy Awards.

Taking place over a single morning, Jake Gyllenhaal stars as 911 operator Joe Baylor trying to save a kidnapping victim. He quickly learns that nothing is as it seems however.

Alongside Gyllenhaal, the main cast also consists of Ethan Hawke, Riley Keogh, Paul Dano, Peter Sarsgaard, Bill Burr and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

The Guilty was directed by Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua and adapted from a screenplay written by True Detective creator and scribe Nic Pizzolatto

It will receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11th, before receiving a limited cinema release and then heading to Netflix in October.

You can stream The Guilty on Netflix from 1st October.
